    Presented by Glen Turner, he has been utilizing the skills provided from the Accidental Counsellor training for a number of years. He modified the content and produced a template to guide students in identifying issues (boxes) in their lives and outlined steps needed to empower the individual to make change. This presentation is based around the notion of boxes that weigh us down and how listening and empowering individuals can help to promote self-care which may include simple solutions (talk to friends about issues), to more confronting solutions such as seeking further help from a medical professional or police, all of which I have facilitated on a number of occasions.

    The presentation will consider the co-morbidities around mental health issues and how they can be influenced by and impacted further on for children and young people with additional learning needs. This will include considerations around what is happening in their lives both in school and outside of school and how these may also impact.
