Nuances and Complexities of Mental Health and SEND

The presentation will consider the co-morbidities around mental health issues and how they can be influenced by and impacted further on for children and young people with additional learning needs. This will include considerations around what is happening in their lives both in school and outside of school and how these may also impact. As we are all aware, traumatic events can be a trigger for children and young people who are already vulnerable, and we will be looking through the lens of COVID-19 at this. Additionally, ideas and strategies to support our children and young people with additional learning needs will be discussed, shared and act as a take-away from this session.
