Empathic responses require a shift in our programming. We are not socially prepared to hold empathic conversations. This programming has been so successful, that the elements of an empathic conversation seem almost counter-intuitive. The session will outline the elements of an empathic conversation, and how it differs from a social conversation. Through the use of empathic responses, one is not only able to build rapport quickly, but can enable another to find their own resources within their crisis.
